In this blog, we're going to talk about our sense of sight. When you look at things, it's kind of like wearing tintedglasses. I'm saying this because what you see is influenced by what your belief system.
Imagine your thoughts are like colorful filters for your eyes! Those rose colored glasses! This is why it's really important to understand how you see things. Sometimes, you might only see things a certain way. Having a particular bias. Like thinking the way that males do, or like females do. Even that would be affected by age and experiences, good, bad, and ugly!
If you could look without those filters, you might have a clearer picture and truer understanding of what you are looking at.
Here's a method and technique to help you understand how you see things: get a blank sheet of paper and divide it into two columns. On the left side, write down what you believe about the opposite sex. Just be honest and write everything that comes to mind. The stuff you write down is what is affecting how you see them, and possibly the things they do.
There's this saying I’ve heard: ”Change your perspective to see things clearly." It's like taking off those tinted glasses and looking at things as they are. Yes, this is hard to do but worth the effort. A new point of view can change everything in your life for the better.
You might have heard the saying, "You see what you want to see." And the “you hear what you want to hear,” which will cover when we talk about the gift of hearing.
Seeing what you want to see brings up an old adage, “love is blind.” What you're looking at is shaped by what you're thinking, which is stimulated by your needs, wants and or desires. All of which are coming from your subconscious mind.
In our next post we will continue this examination of the wonderful gift of sight.
